Designer: Floris Meydam (1919 – 2011) Born in the town of Leerdam.

Meydam started his career as assistant at the advertising department of the Glasfabriek Leerdam in 1935.

One of the most famous Dutch glass artists, sculptor, and Industrial designers of the second generation after Andries Dirk Copier who also started at the Leerdam glassworks in 1914. Leerdam was one of the first Dutch factories to collaborate with artists to produce work under their own name.

Condition: In good condition, no cracks, chips or flea bites. However, there are light scratches to the piece which despite my best efforts don’t always show up in photographs. Light scratches to the base.
